Rah Rah Rah!

Remember how excited I was when Zoe got her own song?

Well, scratch that.

Zoe has chosen her own song, thank you very much, and it is not “The Sweet Nearness of You.”

It’s the Minnesota Rouser.  “Sing my song!” she demands. “Rah! Rah! Rah!”

She already knows the words better than I do (to be fair, she had a few hours head start on learning them.)

Here she is, singing it (sort of) with Mike.  The background accompaniment includes microwave and toaster oven sounds.  Very rousing!

Good grief she is adorable! Can you explain to me why exactly Minnesota Rouser was picked? I am a little confused by that!?!?!?!

    • Sorry, Aunt Emily. Mike thought she would like it, and he was so right. As you know, we are not heavily invested in the Gophers. Or, you know, any college team. But maybe that will change now that Zoe is such a fan of the song . . .

Ummm…I know you live in Minnesota and all, but don’t you think that “On Wisconsin” is SO much more rousing?! On the other hand, Zoe may have a new fan in my mother.

    • Ha! I thought of you, Kirsten, and also the Bucky the Badger shirt hanging in Zoe’s closet (a hand-me-down from a Milwaukee friend). We can try On Wisconsin, but so far Zoe is hooked on the rouser. She has rejected both our college fight songs and my high school fight song in favor of “her” song.

  3. I like the part where they spell “Minnesota” together. Zoe is on the O while Mike is still on the N’s. Big grin on the goofiness of fight songs and the young ladies who love them.
