I love this.
It’s one of the many hidden gems on The Commons, where the caption is maddeningly brief: “Sharon Conrad, swimming among various citrus fruits.”
There is so much more I want to know. For example, who is Sharon Conrad? Was it her idea to swim among these various citrus fruits? If not, whose was it, and what was the reasoning behind the citrus fruit swimming? Which citrus fruits are represented? What happened to the various citrus fruits after the photo shoot was done?
The brevity is maddening, but it is sort of perfect, too. “Sharon Conrad, swimming among various citrus fruits.” It sounds like a poem:
Sharon Conrad, swimming among various citrus fruits.
Beauty is truth, truth beauty,–that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.
Come on now. If John Keats had access to Flickr, he would absolutely have worked that line in.
Tell us a poem–or something that sounds like a poem–you love.
